BBSAK Wont Connect To Device

Share

I got a hold of a Blackberry 9700 Bold today to replace my old crappy curve.
Decided since it’s a fresh device, I’d install a leaked version of the latest BB OS for it, 6.0.0.576.

Where I ran into my issue with doing this was trying to wipe the device using BBSAK so that the Application Loader would allow me to install this OS.

Blackberry Device Manager would recognize the device, but not BBSAK.

After some frustration I discovered the fix for this is quite easy.
Step 1: Open up your Device Manager.
Step 2: Inside Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
Step 3: Do the following to all instances of USB Root Hub.

  • Right click USB Root Hub and click Properties.
  • Click the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Step 4: Open up Power Options from the Control Panel and go to Change your plans settings.
Step 5: Click Change Advanced Power Settings.
Step 6: Expand USB Settings and make sure USB selective suspend settings is disabled.

Now try connecting to your device through BBSAK again, it should work this time.
